Apple Had It Coming
Well, Apple had it coming. Apple has been wielding their control over the iPhone store and iTunes so anti-competitively that is was bound to raise the ire of US regulators.
Frankly, Apple deserves this. They've historically been one if the loudest voices crying foul of Microsoft's business practices, but once they were in the driving seat of a market, they resorted to the same (if not worse) business practices.
I've never had love for the American FCC, but this time I'm cheering them on. I particularly like that they are asking Apple to explain their rejection of all applications.
I do have to wonder one thing, though - this would obviously seem to be a case if product tying - but I personally see no difference with how Apple handles the iPhone + it's store vs. their control over MacOS X (as per the Psystar case). To me, the two seem (superficially at least) to be very similar.
