Google's New Programming Language
I learned today of Google's new programming language, named "Go". Over the next few days, I will be delving into this interesting looking language (which by outward appearances seems to inherit some of the basic structure and syntax of the C/C++/Java family of languages) and will be giving my opinions as I form them.
What I would like to ponder out loud right now is this: what does Google having their own language mean for Python? The Python community has always pointed to Google as an example of how wonderful Python can be - but I now have to wonder if Google would favour their new language instead (the criticisms for Python are numerous, and covered well all over the internet).
