Steve Jobs Defends Apple's Position - What an Ass
So, it seems Steve Jobs has decided to push his reality distortion field beyond the bounds of his company, and in a response to Adobe's recent announcement of abandoning, release a letter in response.
Does anyone other than Apple fan-boys buy this rubbish?
Let's address a few of his claims, shall we?
There are now alternatives to flash technology - like what? Name me any other technology which can do what either Flash or Java could do in a browser. Can HTML 5 use webcams? No. Can SVG? No. Can JavaScript in any form? No. Can any of these technologies perform true 3D rendering? No.
Flash is the number one reason Macs crash - wow, Flash doesn't make Linux crash. I've never heard of Flash crashing even fragile little Windows. I guess he's admitting here that Mac OS X sucks, and is not as stable and secure as he kept trying to convince everyone.
All in all, Steve's letter did nothing to promote his view. All that the issue here is that Flash would have provided another avenue for applications to be developed outside Apple's direct control.
That's the only issue here!!!
Steve Jobs and Apple are such greedy controlling bastards, that they come up with all sorts of outlandish claims as to why they keep kicking everyone in the scrotum. It's greed - end of story. Apple always blocks any application which would allow people to freely develop applications, that's all there is to it. Nobody has yet convinced me otherwise.
