What In The World Is Wrong With Blog Ad Agencies?

Posted September 29, 2009

Since it became glaringly obvious that I could no longer rely on PayPerPost as a possible avenue for earning a little extra on the side from this blog, I thought I'd give another ad agency a try, this time "blogsvertise". Although they did accept my application, they said that my account was on "probation" because, according to their e-mail:

Blog has little or no content and/or Blog is brand new and does not appear to be at least 30 days old.

So once more I find myself in an awkward situation where what the company claims, and what one can see on my blog are at odds. One need only look at my archive to see that this blog has been alive for several months, and I have over 50 entries. Hardly what I'd call "little or no content" and certainly older than 30 days.

Being a good citizen, I replied asking for clarification, and supplied them with the actual numbers of my site. This was on Monday. I have yet to receive a response.

This obviously leads me to question how these companies are actually validating blogs which apply for their services. Is there perhaps some sort of automated software which tries to detect this? If so, the results can clearly not be trusted.

So where does a blogger go from here? If you have any suggestions on how to follow up here, please let me know.
